A really fun and memorable product

printed pencil skirt review SKY LANTERNS Pack Assorted Colors

SKY LANTERNS Pack Assorted Colors

I read up on these lanterns and was excited about using them for my daughter's 5th birthday party, a Rapunzel theme. We went out to my parents' house because they live on lots of land. I faked my confidence in this product to assume my mom, dad, husband, and the other skeptical adults that these were fine and not a risk to the nearby farmland, woods, or houses. I was secretly very nervous, but all for nothing. They were perfect, and beautiful! I want to do them for all of our birthdays now. It does take at least 2 adults to light each one. One needs to hold the lighter, and the other the lantern. They take a minute or so (which is longer than you think when you're holding these things) to inflate properly. We had one adult hold each lantern and one other adult go person to person to light them. 2 of us then rotated and helped hold them as they inflated. They are bigger than I expected. If you want them to go up simultaneously, you will need multiple lighters.

I totally recommend trying this if you are interested. It is great, and we will be doing it again!

  1. We lit these at dusk for my deceased son on his Angel Day. They were beautiful as they climbed and drifted across the river and into the night.

  3. these were a lot of fun, though I would certainly recommend having 2 people to light them, and NO wind. they are best on a completely still night.

N do not open till you r ready to use it as the wind will tear the thin paper. I will definitely order more and keep them on hand for birthdays. This is a great birthday gift for any age girl n even young boys.

  5. These require some good technique, but are a lot of fun. The supplier shipped the order very quickly and they are quite beautiful.

  7. Made a beautiful evening in the Ouachita Mountains something special.

Be careful not to light the walls on fire while you're still holding them. :)

  8. My first experience with Sky Lanters was on Christmas night in Colorado. The sky was clear, the air was brisk, and there was snow on the ground and in the trees. We set off three colored lanterns, and it was so beautiful. It's amazing how young and old alike can stand in the cold and watch the lights until they disappear, about 15 minutes after launch.

I ordered some for myself. This past Spring, some friends and I were going to release one, when the neighbor drove up. Her father had passed away the week before and she was mourning her loss. We had her come up and help us light the lantern. I told her this lantern represented her father, and when she released it, she was letting go of some of the pain in her heart and setting him free. The lantern seemed to stop in one location and stay there. We watched for a long time until the light finally disappeared. With tears in her eyes, the neighbor thanked us and said she did feel a little better. She also comes home every night, looking at that one spot in the sky, remembering her dad with a smile.
