Legend Sky Darts Trilogy ebook

The archipelago that frames the background for this story is reminiscent of Ursula K. Le Guin's Earth Sea Trilogy. The main character, Caspine, shows a strong determination to make her own way in the world, despite unexplainable events, that quickly unfold throughout the tale. There is a fine balance of personal narrative, plots and subplots, with likable characters and just enough description, to support a story line that moves along at a quick pace. One of my favorite quotes in the book that Caspine wrestles with is: "Fate is what befalls us. Destiny is what we're summoned to become. And choice links the two together."

This coming of age story follows in the footsteps of many great tales, Rowling / Riordan / Lewis, but unlike these it feels more personal. I am looking forward to seeing how the trilogy unfolds. As other reviewers have noted the digital copy is in need of proofreading, yet the spirit of the author shines through.

  2. The first book in what is going to be a trilogy is very well written and the story is captivating. From the first chapter my attention was caught and I found myself engaged in the story wanting to know more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the next ones after they are written. I won't give away the story here because a synopsis has already been given in the description and I don't want to give anything away. Part of the fun in reading a good book to me is not knowing everything that happens before I start reading. This is a very good book.

  3. It's great to be in a world where everything is an adventure and new connections are made so easily and deeply. I cared about the characters right away and was hooked by wanting to know what happens and loved the pace and each time I stopped reading I was left with the lingering atmosphere of that world, with its mystery and dark and light and love and danger. It left me with a delicious feeling that called me to return to that world. Highly recommended.
